#CEOTalk: 5 Major Keys I Learned From DJ Khaled....and Taught My Son
Major Key Alert! When DJ Khaled speaks, it's all about the #ClothTalk, #MogulTalk, and #KeysToSuccess. A few days shy of the release of his latest album, "I Got The Keys", snapchat super star DJ Khaled brought his Major Keys to DC for an early morning meet and great with listeners of 93.9 WKYS "The Fam In The Morning" with DJ Quick Silva and Lil Mo. It was all about the "Fan Luv" as listeners heard from Khaled about the Major Keys being dropped on his album, the importance of positive energy, and his reaction to being asked to open up for Beyonce'.
The DC edition of Khaled's #ClothTalk was EPIC! And what was even more epic......my son sitting beside me soaking up all the #MogulTalk. Out of all of the major keys that were dropped during the hour long discussion the 5 listed below are my top major keys:
5. SECURE THE BAG!
Key to life.....keep a bag coming. It's simple! We all need money to survive in life. Money may not buy happiness but it will definitely keep a roof over your head and food on your table. So when we're talking about money being a key to success, make sure that your BAG (money) is secure and that it is flowing in from multiple streams. A secure bag is one that you are responsible for it's growth and flow. Secure the bag ALERT!
4. THE KEY TO SNAPCHAT IS BEING YOURSELF!
If you follow DJ Khaled on Snapchat then you know his stories are lit! From Jet ski excursions, to tours of his Miami mansion, to run ins with thousands of screaming fans, Khaled has earned his crown as the King of Snap. When asked how he gained his millions of followers, he shared that outside of being a celebrity, people connected to him being himself. Being yourself is key!
3. THE KEY IS TO ENCOURAGE YOURSELF!
They don't want you to be successful, so what you gonna do? ....BE SUCCESSFUL! Khaled's approach to being encouraged is for the encouragement to come from self. When it comes to "THEY", they will never keep you encouraged, so you have to encourage yourself. ("They" is synonymous with haters and people who don't want to see you succeed).
2. STAYING POSITIVE IS KEY!
On any giving day you can find DJ Khaled in his backyard caressing his flowers and verbalizing his love for them. According to Khaled, his flowers represent positive energy and he makes it a point to keep flowers around him. Not only are flowers always a part of his visuals, he speaks positive words to the flowers so the exchange of positive energy is mutual. I like that!
1. GOD IS THE MASTER KEY!
This key has to be my favorite. It's so real! With God all doors (that are meant to be) opened are open! The most special part about this key was that the question was posed by my eight year old son Maurice who is an aspiring DJ and Vlogger. He had the opportunity to ask DJ Khaled a question and for an 8 year old, the question was profound. He asked, "How do you stay positive." The short answer, prayer and God. Khaled said "God is the Master Key". Amen!
